Stories of Espionage - Two Author Signing Event

Sunday, September 10, 2023 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

We will be joined by authors Jeremiah Davis and Karl Wegener as they share their books based on true events and their careers with U.S. Military Intelligence agencies. Come learn about the U.S. Army Security Agency, U.S. Air Force Intelligence Service and the U.S Army Intelligence and Security Command and how these authors times with those agencies has influenced their writing.

Jeremiah “Jerry” Davis is a retired senior intelligence officer who enjoyed a 30-year career with the National Security Agency. Prior to NSA, Jerry served almost 7 years in the U.S. Army Security Agency (ASA) as linguist and intelligence analyst. He grew up in Brooklyn and Long Island, New York, and graduated from Brooklyn Preparatory School. He attended Fordham University prior to enlisting in ASA. He is graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, where he studied Czech and Slovak. Jerry earned a B.S. from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in Russian and East European Studies from George Washington University. He also completed many courses over the years at NSA’s National Cryptologic School.

Although he authored countless intelligence reports over the years at NSA, he is something of a late bloomer when it comes to openly published works. His first effort was a compilation of the writings of his late daughter, Heather Davis Johnson, who kept a Facebook journal during her five-year battle with cancer. She intended to publish that journal in book form when she was cancer-free, but she passed away in January 2016 before she could do so. Jerry fulfilled her wish to share her journey with others and published “The Starfish Chronicles: A Cancer Warrior’s Memoir” in 2018.

His first novel, Snow Mountain Misfits: Cold War Tales of the Super-Secret Army Security Agency, was published in October 2020 and can be characterized as two parts M*A*S*H, one part Animal House, and a dash of Catch-22. His most recent work is Border Site Summer, a sequel to Snow Mountain Misfits. It was published in March 2022. The final installment (A Borderline Case) in his Army Security Agency trilogy will be released in early fall 2023.

Jerry resides in coastal Delaware with his wife Dorothy to whom he has been married for more than 55 years. His hobbies include following current national and international events, fishing on Delaware’s Inland Bay, and enjoying time with his son Joe, his daughter Shannon, and his five grandchildren (Rhianna and Quinn Davis, Toni Davis, and Grace and Katy Johnson).
